\u3010\u82f1\u8a9e\u7248\uff08Artist Biography\uff09\u3011 After working as an art teacher, museum curator, and university lecturer, Yuko Kawada launched her full-time career as a painter in 1995, working independently without secondary employment since 1998. Following the acquisition of her artwork by The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2007, she relocated her studio to Nagano in 2012. During a one-month hospitalization, she taught herself web development. For the Quintet exhibition at the Sompo Japan Museum of Art in 2013, she raised approximately 3.8 million yen in crowdfunding through her blog. This sustained her practice for four years, culminating in a solo exhibition at the Yokosuka Museum of Art in 2016. Following this success, she transitioned to full independence from gallery representation and moved her studio to Karuizawa in 2017. Following the acquisition of her artwork by The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2007, she relocated her studio to Nagano in 2012. During a one-month hospitalization, she taught herself web development. For the Quintet exhibition at the Sompo Japan Museum of Art in 2013, she raised approximately 3.8 million yen in crowdfunding through her blog. This sustained her practice for four years, culminating in a solo exhibition at the Yokosuka Museum of Art in 2016. Following this success, she transitioned to full independence from gallery representation and moved her studio to Karuizawa in 2017.
