砂上の網羅

軽井沢の冬、シルバーの下地の上に、私は毎日少しずつ、ハッチングの細い線をコツコツと積み上げていきました。
昨年10月27日からアメリカに1ヶ月滞在し、その後日本へ帰国してまもなく。
その短い間に、私の人生にとってかけがえのない二人の大切な人が、この世を去りました。
慌ただしく過ぎていく手続きやセレモニーの合間、祈るようにしてこの作品を描き進めました。

一個人の生命は、決してその人一人だけで完結するものではありません。
たとえ幻のように儚い人生であったとしても、私たちは必ず誰かと繋がり、死後もなお、
目に見えない様々な縁（えにし）を結び直していくのだと信じています。

砂の上に広がる無数の網目のように、絡み合い、続いていく生命のネットワーク。
亡き人への鎮魂の祈りと、時を超えて繋がっていく生命の愛おしさを、この緻密な線の重なりに込めました。

During the winter in Karuizawa, over a silver base layer, I painstakingly added fine hatched lines, bit by bit, day after day.Soon after returning to Japan from a month-long stay in the United States that began on October 27th of last year, two people who were irreplaceable in my life passed away. Amidst the blur of administrative procedures and ceremonies, I pushed forward with this piece as if in prayer.An individual’s life never ends solely with that one person. Even if life is as fleeting as an illusion, I believe we always connect with someone, and even after death, we continue to weave various invisible bonds (enishi).Like countless web-like patterns spreading across the sand, the network of life intertwines and endures. In these meticulously layered lines, I have imbued a prayer of repose for the departed, and a deep affection for the life that transcends time to remain connected.
