コンセプト
私は自分の心を整え、世界と対話するための「日々の行」として、絵を描いています。かつての在家修行者の絵師や画僧のように、描くこと自体が私にとっての静かな祈りであり、観照の時間です。商業的な成功や名声は、二の次です。 この公式サイトは、そうした日々の探求と、画家・川田祐子の全活動の軌跡を記録し、皆様へとお伝えするための場所です。
制作と歩み
1995年の発表開始以来、長らくは画廊での個展を中心に活動を重ねてまいりました。その結果として、東京国立近代美術館や横須賀美術館をはじめとする公的美術館にご所蔵いただくご縁にも恵まれました。
2017年にアトリエを軽井沢へ移してからは、豊かな自然の中でさらに深く自身の内面と向き合うようになり、多様な素材や技法を用いた表現へと世界が広がっています。大作から小品まで、流行に流されることなく、その時々の境地を「一度きりの記録」として画面に刻み続けています
現在の活動と目的
近年は、アトリエでの孤独な制作と並行して、インターネットを活用した「直接的な対話」に力を入れています。 作家直営のオンラインギャラリーでの作品販売をはじめ、仮想空間個展、ニュースレター、YouTubeでの動画配信など、これらはすべて、商業的なフィルターを通さず、作品の純粋な精神性をそのまま世界中の方々の日常へとお届けするための試みです。 一人の画家が独立して世界と繋がり、生き抜くこの実践が、これからの時代を生きる人々への何らかのヒントになればと願って取り組んでいます。

Concept
I paint as a daily practice to center my mind and engage in a dialogue with the world. Like the lay practitioners and painter-monks of the past, the act of painting itself is a quiet prayer and a time of contemplation for me. Commercial success and fame are secondary. This official website serves as a place to document these daily explorations and the entire trajectory of my activities as the artist Yuko Kawada, sharing them directly with you.
Creation & Journey
Since I began exhibiting in 1995, my activities were long centered around solo exhibitions at galleries. As a natural result of this ongoing practice, I was fortunate to have my works acquired by public museums, including The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and the Yokosuka Museum of Art. After moving my studio to Karuizawa in 2017, the rich natural surroundings allowed me to delve even deeper into my inner self, expanding my artistic world through diverse materials and techniques. From large-scale canvases to small pieces, I am not swayed by fleeting trends. Instead, I continue to engrave my state of mind at each moment onto the surface as a “singular, once-in-a-lifetime record.”
Current Activities & Purpose
In recent years, alongside solitary creation in my studio, I have been focusing on “direct dialogue” utilizing the internet. Initiatives such as my artist-run online gallery, virtual solo exhibitions, newsletters, and YouTube videos are all endeavors to deliver the pure spirituality of my work directly into the daily lives of people around the world, bypassing commercial filters. It is my hope that this ongoing practice—an independent painter connecting directly with the world and forging her own path—will offer some inspiration to those navigating the times ahead.
