世界線に咲く

黄色をベースに明るい春らしい空気を感じる作品になりました。最近「世界線が変わる」という言葉をよく見聞きします。時代が変わったという意味のようです。この言葉の前提には、パラレルワールドや多次元世界の存在を信じる人が多くなっていることも意味します。私は、線描を持ち味に制作して来ましたので、そういう意味も込めていますが、もう一つ大きな意味が込められています。

絵画は平面の、２次元世界ですが、その長い歴史的の歩みの中で先人たちは、その２次元に１次元の点描やミニマル、３次元の立体、４次元の時間表現さえも感じさせる表現を工夫し発明して来ました。

この先、絵画はどこへ行くのか？を意外に多くの人が固唾を飲んで見守っています。

人によっては、「絵画はもう可能性がないのだ」と見放すこともあるのですが、私はそのちょうど見放された絵画のここ30年を、絵画一筋で生きて来ました。絵画には人知れぬ可能性があると信じているからです。人が見放したこと自体にチャンスがあるとも思っていました。

油彩画は、単なる油絵具の塊にすぎません。しかし、そこに人々がさまざまな思いや願い、楽しみを見出そうとする尊い活動です。その活動は、翻って日常の当たり前の景色を一変させる力に応用できるのです。そのうち多くの人がその幸せの原理に気づいていくことになるでしょう。その時に、世界線が変わり、明るい世界が開かれるに違いないのです。
